Cloud storage may have been available for a while, but successful attacks on major providers have made companies wary of the consequences of entrusting it with their most sensitive data. According to a new report of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), 21 EU/EEA countries have developed or are in the process of developing systems to digitally record information about vaccination. Five of these digital systems automatically generate lists that identify the to be vaccinated populations, determine which vaccines are due or overdue, and generate reminders.
As the impact of social media becomes more relevant, there is an increasing concern that social media —and also technology in general, and particularly Artificial Intelligence— might be replicating or even amplifying existing gender discrimination, prejudices and stereotypes. Identifying the causes might help preventing the negative impact of such technological developments. We have performed a test aimed at identifying possible areas of further research by trying to isolate the effect of the gender in the functioning of the recommendations algorithm.
